Carnival Cruise Line announced that Ben Clement will become the Executive Vice President of Maritime & New Builds starting January 2025, succeeding Lars Ljoen.

Clement, a 28-year Carnival veteran, currently serves as Senior Vice President of New Builds, Refurbishments, and Product Development, and has been influential in designing, refurbishing, and building Carnival’s fleet of 27 ships over the past two decades.

His innovative ship and product designs have led to the introduction of new ship classes like Dream, Vista, and Excel, along with sea-going innovations like the first roller coasters at sea.

In his expanded role, Clement will oversee Carnival’s maritime operations, technical operations, and compliance functions, leveraging his extensive maritime experience gained in the French navy, merchant marine, and shipyard management. Carnival plans to fill his current role to support the delivery of five new ships, including a new ship class, starting in 2027.
