Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled details of its upcoming Excel-class ships, Carnival Festivale and Carnival Tropicale, which are set to enter service in 2027 and 2028.
Both ships are being constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany and will feature updated designs that focus on multi-generational travel with more connecting rooms and enhanced youth programming.
The Carnival Festivale will debut from Port Canaveral in Spring 2027, offering itineraries to the Caribbean and Bahamas, including visits to Carnival’s new private island, Celebration Key.
The new vessels will introduce Sunsation Point, a multi-deck water park that will occasionally operate during select evenings with special events.
Carnival also announced the order for additional ships, including a future Excel-class vessel in 2028 and three 230,000-ton ships known as Project Ace, to be built by Fincantieri in Italy with deliveries scheduled from 2029 to 2032.
Christine Duffy President of Carnival told an event on board the Carnival Celebration, “the new ships will introduce an updated design for the Excel Class. The ships will focus on multi-generational travel, with more connecting rooms and enhanced youth programme spaces.”
