The Carnival Panorama, facing propulsion issues and being too tall for the bridges of the Columbia River, will have its funnel removed before entering drydock in Portland.
Currently docked in Victoria, Canada, the ship will undergo repairs and a technical overhaul at the Vigor Shipyard in Oregon.
The Panorama is expected to resume service on December 23, 2023, with a seven-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera from Long Beach, visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.
The ship had four cruises cancelled due to the necessary repairs and the company had to secure a drydock facility on the West Coast for the work to be completed. The vessel is part of Carnival’s Vista Class, sailing year-round from Long Beach with various itineraries to Baja Mexico and the Mexican Riviera.
