Celebrity Ascent, the fourth ship in Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Class hosted its first guests after being delivered by the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard.
The ship embarked on a four-night cruise to the Western Caribbean from Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico.
Before its official inaugural season, the Celebrity Ascent is scheduled to offer a three-night cruise to the Bahamas on November 26, following a naming ceremony with Captain Sandy Yawn and her sister Michelle Dunham as co-godmothers.
The ship’s winter season includes cruises to both the Western and Eastern Caribbean, featuring destinations like George Town, Grand Cayman; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Basseterre, St. Kitts; Nassau, the Bahamas, and more. It then sets sail to Europe for a winter season in the Western Mediterranean, the Greek Islands, and Turkey.
