Celebrity Cruises bid farewell to its two Galapagos-based ships, the Celebrity Xpedition and Celebrity Xploration, which completed their final voyages in early January 2025 before being sold to National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions.
The Celebrity Xpedition, built in 2001 and operating in the Galapagos since 2004, will be renamed National Geographic Gemini and is set to offer seven-night cruises starting mid-March 2025.
The Celebrity Xploration, acquired by Celebrity Cruises in 2016, will be renamed National Geographic Delfina and is scheduled to launch on February 14, 2025, with ten-night cruise packages that include hotel stays and transfers.
Despite the departure of these two ships, Celebrity Cruises continues to operate year-round in the Galapagos with the Celebrity Flora, a 100-guest ship that debuted in 2019.
