Chef Bruno Barbieri to lead Costa Cruises 80th anniversary celebrations

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Costa Cruises is hosting a series of events in Genoa, Italy, where the company’s history began in 1948. The celebrations take place between October 19 and October 27.

Events include the Monumental Tour, featuring a show by French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot, combining electronic music, cultural heritage, and digital art. The event will be held at Palazzo Ducale, with a light and video display showcasing Genoa’s history and the sea.

Costa Cruises will be hosting a cocktail party on board the Costa Toscana, curated by Italian chef Bruno Barbieri and serving Ferrari Trento wines. Guests will have the chance to walk the red carpet and participate in an exclusive photo shoot. Italian artist Malika Ayane will also perform on board.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Costa Cruises will support the Community of San’Egidio, providing lunch for 150 guests on October 19. They have been supporting the community since 2015, distributing around one million meals.

There will be a comedy show by Angelo Pintus on October 23, with proceeds donated to the Gaslini Paediatric Hospital in Genoa. Costa Cruises will match the donation.

Costa Cruises will host a group of young patients from Gaslini Hospital on October 27, offering them a day of discovery and special entertainment activities on board the Costa Toscana.Costa will also be the brand sponsor of the 40th annual assembly of ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities) in Genoa from October 24 to October 26. They will host a workshop dedicated to environmental education and citizen science for Italian students.
