
The Clifden Station House Hotel in Connemara achieved a 54% increase in post-tax profits, amounting to €676,006 for the fiscal year ending May 2024.
The hotel underwent a €2.5m renovation, enhancing public areas, the restaurant space, and improving entrance and reception features.
Employment at the hotel increased from 49 to 53, indicating positive growth and prospects for the business despite potential international uncertainties.
Frank Ford, a director of the hotel, remarked that while some guests still reference the Golfgate controversy, it is “more a curiosity now than anything else.”
Mr Ford shared, “We managed to increase our rate and occupancy, primarily in the shoulder season.”
