The closure of Holyhead Port due to Storm Darragh is expected to increase shipping costs for goods between Ireland and England.

The IRHA has urged the Irish Government to address the urgent need for more ferry capacity in light of the disruption caused by the port’s closure.

With Rosslare at full capacity, the association is advocating for redirected ferry services to Dublin Port to facilitate better logistical management.

Swift action is required to prevent further economic impact, as delays and increased transport costs are affecting supply chains and consumer prices.
