The Club Hotel in Goffs, Co Kildare, is set to undergo a €7m expansion, which includes a new 25-bed extension and a standalone spa area featuring a sauna, steam room, pool, and treatment rooms.
Owners Eoin Doyle and Ray Byrne submitted a planning application to Kildare County Council for the expansion, driven by strong demand since the hotel opened over two years ago.
It is anticipated that the expansion could create up to 30 new jobs, adding to the existing staff of approximately 50.
Mr Doyle noted the area’s shortage of hotels as a driving factor for the planned redevelopment.
The hotel will also be integrated into the Voco Hotels brand, which operates under the Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Eoin Doyle shared: “It was a good time for us to come along. We are the de-facto base for those who want to be right beside their horses. It can take a while, you’ve got to get planning, you’ve got to build. Now is the time to go for it”.
