
The Port of Cork Company concluded its 2024 cruise season on October 23rd, 2024, with the arrival of the MSC Virtuosa, marking a successful year with 103 cruise ships carrying 190,000 passengers.
Conor Mowlds, chief commercial officer at PoCC, praised the efforts of the local community, businesses, and tourism partners for their crucial role in creating a memorable experience for visitors, highlighting the impact of the cruise industry on Irish tourism.
Toddy Stafford, president of Cobh and Harbour Chamber, emphasized the positive effects of the cruise season on the local economy and community spirit, expressing optimism for 2025 and future tourism endeavors.
A standout moment in the season included the visit of the Disney Dream, the largest ship to dock at Cobh Cruise Terminal, along with four maiden calls, one being Cunard’s Queen Anne.
