Royal Caribbean International and Carnival have adjusted itineraries in the Caribbean due to Hurricane Rafael.
Royal Caribbean have adjusted the itineraries of four ships. The Radiance of the Seas, which departed Tampa on November 2, will now sail to Western Caribbean destinations instead of its original route to the Bahamas, with stops in Cozumel, Roatán, Belize City, and Costa Maya.
Vision of the Seas, on a nine-night cruise from Baltimore, will change its itinerary from Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay to a longer visit to King’s Wharf in Bermuda.
Other affected vessels include Freedom of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas, both altering port days on their respective six-night and seven-night cruises to the Western Caribbean.
Carnival Miracle has cancelled its scheduled visit to Grand Cayman as part of its ongoing 12-day voyage from Galveston, following similar cancellations by the Carnival Horizon on its Western Caribbean cruise.
Carnival is monitoring homeporting operations due to Hurricane Rafael, with two ships currently under watch, including the Carnival Valor, which will dock in Louisiana earlier than planned.
To avoid the storm, the Carnival Valor’s upcoming sailing is rescheduled to start earlier, with a new check-in deadline set for 2:00 PM and a projected departure time of 2:30 PM.
The Carnival Paradise is on its way to Tampa for a cruise set to depart Thursday, and while no major changes are expected for its operational schedule, guests are encouraged to sign up for text alerts for any updates.
Carnival shared: “Our Fleet Operations Center in Miami continues to actively monitor Rafael, which has developed into a hurricane. The safety of our guests and crew is our priority, and our ships will always maintain a safe distance from the storm.”
