Paddy McKillon Junior’s Dean Hotel Group has received planning permission for a new seven-storey hotel in the heart of Kilkenny, near MacDonagh Train Station and MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre.
This will be the fourth Dean hotel in Ireland, joining existing locations in Dublin, Galway, and Cork, under The Dean Hotel Group which was previously part of the Press Up Group.
The planned hotel will feature 99 ensuite bedrooms spread across seven storeys, including amenities such as a restaurant, bar, gym, outdoor swimming pool, function rooms, and outdoor terraces.
The proposal includes a public plaza area, bicycle parking spaces, green roofs, and the reuse of a limestone wall from the protected structure of MacDonagh Station within the site. The development will be subject to 18 conditions as part of the planning permission.
