
Here are the theme parks impacted by hurricane Milton and their policies:
Disney
Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs will begin closing in phases on Wednesday, Oct. 9, with Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom closing at 1 p.m. and Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs at 2 p.m.
The theme parks are expected to remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10, while Disney Springs may reopen in the late afternoon with limited services.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort will close at 11 a.m. on Oct. 9 and are likely to remain closed until Sunday, Oct. 13.
All Disney transportation services will cease after the 2 p.m. closures on Oct. 9, and Disney has suspended cancellation fees for restaurants and paid experiences during this period.
Guests can reschedule or cancel Disney Resort hotel packages and most room-only reservations (booked directly with Disney) at no cost if the National Hurricane Centre issues a hurricane warning for the Orlando area within seven days of a guest’s scheduled arrival date, according to the theme park’s website.
Customers who purchase Disney tickets through a third-party site will still be responsible for any nonrefundable payments and cancellation or change fees assessed by those suppliers.
Universal Studio
Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal CityWalk will close early at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
All theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, Oct. 10.
Universal Volcano Bay water park will be closed on both Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10.
Universal’s hotels will stay open, but Halloween Horror Nights is cancelled for Wednesday and Thursday, with plans to reopen on Friday, Oct. 11.
Universal Orlando Resort’s severe weather policy offers penalty-free rebooking and cancellations for holiday packages, hotel stays and tickets booked directly through Universal in the event of a tropical storm, hurricane warning or state of emergency declaration within seven days of a guest’s arrival.
SeaWorld
SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Discovery Cove Orlando will close on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 9 & 10, due to Hurricane Milton.
The park has implemented its weather preparedness plan to ensure the safety of its animals.
Extra precautions have been taken as part of this plan to address potential weather impacts.

The park has a year-round, Weather-or-Not Assurance” programme designed for extreme weather, which guarantees customers will receive the value of their park admission for weather events such as rain, lightning, extreme heat, wind, snow, hail and more.
Busch Gardens & Legoland
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will be closed from Tuesday, October 8, through Thursday, October 10, due to Hurricane Milton, and has a “Weather-or-Not Assurance” policy in place.
Legoland Florida Resort will close on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 9 & 10, though the Legoland Hotel will remain open at limited capacity and has a “Rainy Day Promise” policy.
Fun Spot America will shut down both Fun Spot Orlando and Fun Spot Kissimmee on October 9-10 in response to the hurricane.
The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens and Brevard Zoo will be closed from October 8 through October 10, both expecting to reopen on Friday, October 11.
