The Disney Destiny touched the water for the first time at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, earlier this week and is scheduled to be delivered in late 2025.
The ship’s floating process involved filling the building dock with water from the Ems River, which lifted the vessel from the chamber floor.
Interior construction is underway, featuring hero and villain-themed attractions, including a “Lion King” restaurant and an “Incredibles” confectionery, along with themed staterooms and suites.
The 140,000-ton ship will operate cruises year-round from Port Everglades, catering to 2,500 guests on journeys to the Caribbean and the Bahamas starting November 2025.
Disney’s ship series also includes the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, with the Disney Adventure set to be delivered later in 2025, marking the company’s entry into Southeast Asia.
