Disney is set to open the world’s first Frozen-themed land at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort on November 20, as part of a $60bn/€57bn spending plan across its parks and resorts worldwide.

The World of Frozen attraction in Hong Kong will recreate landmarks from the fictional kingdom of Arendelle and feature two rides: a boat trip through a winter wonderland and a sleigh-themed rollercoaster. It will also include a Nordic-inspired restaurant.

This expansion is a significant investment for Disney in Hong Kong, where the park has reported eight consecutive annual losses and faced challenges attracting tourists due to the pandemic.

Disney aims to enhance its theme parks and resorts division, nearly doubling its spending over the next 10 years. It sees potential growth in rides, cruises, and other attractions.
