
Disney Treasure, just handed over to the cruise line by Meyer Werft, will be the fourth and last new cruise ships to enter service for the 2024-25 winter season, with the Explora II and the Ilma having already welcomed guests in Europe, while Viking Vela and Disney Treasure are scheduled for December launches.
- Disney Treasure : Set to launch on December 21, 2024, this LNG-powered ship can accommodate 2,500 guests and will begin its season in Port Canaveral, offering seven-night Caribbean cruises to various destinations.
- Explora II : Part of Explora Journeys, this 922-guest ship with a tonnage of 64,000 entered service on September 16, 2024. It focuses on Mediterranean itineraries before relocating to North America and the Caribbean in mid-November.
- Ilma : Operated by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, this 456-guest yacht measures 37,000 tons and began its inaugural cruise on September 2, 2024. After a season in the Mediterranean, it will head to the Caribbean in November.
- Viking Vela : Slated for a maiden cruise on December 12, 2024, this 998-guest vessel, weighing 54,300 tons, represents Viking’s expansion into the luxury ocean segment. It will operate in the Western Mediterranean before transitioning to Northern Europe for winter.
Other ships that have recently entered service in 2024 include the Star Princess from Princess Cruises, Queen Anne from Cunard Line, Mein Schiff 7 from TUI Cruises, Silver Ray from Silversea Cruises, and Utopia of the Seas from Royal Caribbean.
