Donegal Airport has become the first Irish airport to achieve Level 4 “Transformation” in Airport Carbon Accreditation, recognizing its commitment to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.
The Airport Carbon Accreditation program is globally endorsed and evaluates airports across seven levels of certification for effective carbon management.
Eilís Docherty, Managing Director of Donegal Airport, expressed pride in this achievement and highlighted the dedication of airport staff and stakeholders towards sustainable operations.
The airport aims for a 70pc reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, with a long-term goal of achieving Net Zero emissions across all scopes by 2050.
