Cork Airport is anticipating 65,000 passengers during the August Bank Holiday weekend, with Friday, August 2 projected as the busiest day. Passenger traffic for this weekend is up by 5pc compared to the same period last year.

Overall passenger traffic at Cork Airport has increased by 11pc year-to-date compared to last year, and the airport is on track for a record-breaking year with an estimated total of 3 million passengers in 2024.

Strong growth has been seen on continental European routes, with significant increases in passengers flying to/from Spain, Germany, France, and Portugal compared to 2023.
