The ‘Eat the Streets Festival’ hosted by Dublin City Council will take place for its fourth year at Richmond Barracks in Inchicore on Saturday, September 14th, from 1 PM to 6 PM, focusing on promoting a healthier planet through food.
The festival aims to engage families, farmers, urban growers, and chefs in activities around growing, cooking, and discovering Dublin’s food history, with free workshops available for both children and adults.
Attendees can learn practical skills such as preparing stir-fries, milling grain, and creating urban gardens, while chefs will share tips on climate action and celebrate local produce through interactive cooking sessions.
The event will also include discussions on food’s role in combating climate change, as well as entertainment and delicious food options, encouraging participants to bring reusable containers and travel via public transport or cycling.
Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan said,“the Eat the Streets! Festival is about supporting an Irish food sector that promotes an ethos of farm to fork. The challenges in our restaurant sector are real, but this festival highlights the great things that are taking place in our city and our country when it comes to promoting an Ireland Food Culture. Join us for this great free event in Richmond Barracks on Saturday 14th September to help us plant seeds for a tastier future.”
