The Mercantile Hotel & Bar on Dame Street is set to reopen in May after extensive renovations.

The hotel now features 105 bedrooms and features a restaurant with a menu designed by head chef Stephen Gibson.

The design merges Georgian elegance with a contemporary touch while preserving the building’s historical character.

Restoration efforts include refurbishing original façades and sash windows, removing modern alterations.

The reopening is expected to create 80 new hospitality jobs in Dublin city centre.

“It will ensure that a well-loved landmark, which celebrates its 190 years this year, is preserved for generations to come.”

“We have significantly increased the number of hotel bedrooms by 275pc, in addition to adding a new rear extension and an additional floor, which will enhance our guests’ experience. The reopening of the hotel creates 80 jobs for the hospitality sector, resulting in a boost to the local economy.”
