Dublin business partners Conor Battigan and Ed Ruane have launched the first dedicated boat tour business in Dun Laoghaire Harbour called Goat Boat tours.

The launch involved an investment of €170,000, with over €58,000 grant aided under the Brexit Blue Economy Enterprise Development Scheme, recommended by the Seafood Taskforce and implemented by BIM.
The tours offer an opportunity to explore Dublin Bay, including up-close encounters with Dalkey Island’s famous herd of goats.
Each tour lasts one and a half hours and provides passengers with all-weather clothing, life jackets, and binoculars.
Tours showcase the rich biodiversity of the area, passengers also learn about the history of Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Martello Towers, Dalkey Island, local legends, and the famous locals living along the coastline.
The service was established with the support of BIM when Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council offered a tender for water sports providers to establish premises in the harbour, aiming to grow water sports and economic activity along the coastline.
