
The top three countries of origin for foreign visitors to Ireland in October were Britain (35.5pc), the United States (21.2pc), and Germany (7.8pc).
On average, these visitors stayed for 6.9 nights and spent around €1,204 on their trips, according to figures from Central Statistics Office (CSO) of Ireland, as announced by Gregg Patrick, a Statistician in the Tourism and Travel Division
The main reason for visiting Ireland among these visitors was holiday or leisure (46.5pc).
They collectively spent a total of 3,958,200 nights in the country.The estimated overall expenditure of foreign visitors on their trips was €695.1m.
