
Elizabeth Dunphy has won the inaugural Euro-Toques Rising Pastry Chef 2025 at Crumlin College, Dublin.
The theme “Classics Reimagined Using Irish Ingredients” encouraged reinterpretation of classic desserts with Sissy Red apples and Irish blackberries.
Finalists included Joice Da Silva, Samuel Lynch, MollyRose Maher, Aengus Moloney, and Hilary Quinn, judged on precision and creativity.
The competition, supported by La Rousse Foods, aimed to celebrate Ireland’s emerging pastry talent and promote local ingredients.
Dunphy’s winning dish, “Not your typical apple tart,” featured roasted apple, apple curd, blackberry gel, and almond ice-cream.
Darren Hogarty shared: “Congratulations to Elizabeth Dunphy of the Bishop’s Buttery, a truly deserving winner of this inaugural edition. Each participant brought their own personality and creativity to the table.”
Gareth Mullins shared: “This competition represents the pinnacle of achievement for emerging chefs in Ireland, and seeing another exceptional winner crowned is a proud moment for everyone involved.”
