Emirates is rolling out its premium economy product on six US routes using refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft as part of a substantial fleet retrofit project involving 191 Airbus A380 and 777 aircraft.

The newly retrofitted 777s will service routes to Chicago, Boston, Dallas Fort Worth, Seattle, Miami/Bogota, and Newark via Athens, with specific timelines for when each route will begin utilizing the updated aircraft starting November 2023 through February 2025.

The retrofitted Boeing 777s include 38 or 40 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 24 premium economy seats, and updated first and economy class accommodations, enhancing passenger comfort.

Following the refurbishment, by February 2025, 10 out of 12 of Emirates’ US destinations and 12 out of 19 destinations across the Americas will offer premium economy, expanding the service to 27 cities with plans for the introduction of the A350 aircraft.

Adnan Kazim, deputy president and chief commercial officer at Emirates, said:

With the success and popularity of Premium Economy on routes like New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston served by our refurbished A380, we look forward to bringing a new level of comfort and privacy to more cities with refreshed cabins on our Boeing 777s. The introduction of our refreshed product and ensuring consistent experiences in the sky on more routes is part of our long-standing commitment to the US and adding more premium options in a span of just a few months ensures we offer a competitive, value for money proposition for our customers.”
