Etihad Airways has decided to exercise options for three additional Airbus A350 freighters, building on a previous order of seven made in February 2022, driven by rising e-commerce shipments from Asia.

The decision was approved by the Etihad Aviation Group board, with A350F deliveries expected to commence between 2026 and 2027.

The airline aims to increase its freighter fleet from five to 15 aircraft over the next five years, enhancing its cargo operations significantly.

Etihad currently operates its cargo division primarily utilizing its passenger aircraft’s bellyholds but maintains dedicated B777-200 freighters serving various international routes.
