
The latest survey by the European Travel Commission (ETC) shows Europeans are preapring to spend more on travel, with 30pc of them planning to spend €1,501 to €2,500 per trip.
Despite this, travel intention is down slightly, with 72pc of Europeans planning to travel, down 3% from the previous year.
There’s increased interest in Eastern Europe, which has seen a 3pc rise year-on-year, contrasting with an 8pc decline in Southern European destinations.
Accommodation is the primary spending priority, accounting for 27pc of travel budgets, followed by food and drink at 20pc.
The data indicates a growing climate consciousness, with 81pc of Europeans saying that climate change influences their travel decisions.
Miguel Sanz, President of ETC, shared: “These findings reaffirm the resilience of travel demand in Europe. Despite ongoing global uncertainties, Europeans continue to prioritise meaningful travel experiences.”
