Fáilte Ireland has launched its 2023 Transition Year Work Experience Programme, providing students with an opportunity to gain practical work experience in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The programme offers Transition Year students the chance to acquire hands-on work experience in the dynamic tourism and hospitality industry. It aims to inspire young individuals to explore potential career paths within the sector.

Fáilte Ireland ensures that the placements offered by businesses are well-structured and provide valuable learning opportunities for students. The programme helps students develop the interpersonal skills which are essential for any future career.

Nearly 200 businesses across various tourism activities, such as weaving apprenticeships and tour guiding in popular destinations, offer multiple placements through the programme. Last year, around 80% of participating businesses even offered part-time employment to students upon successful completion of their placements.
