Fincantieri Marine Group announced the appointment of George A. Moutafis as Chief Executive Officer, effective from July 1, 2025.
The leadership transition aligns with the new U.S. administration’s focus on strengthening domestic naval capabilities.
Moutafis brings over 25 years of executive experience in strategic planning and defense, having previously served as chief operating officer of Beretta USA Corp.
Fincantieri’s commitment to the U.S. includes over $800 million in investments in shipbuilding operations and a workforce of approximately 3,000 people.
The group has a longstanding presence in the U.S., with significant investments aimed at upgrading and expanding the Marinette yard in Wisconsin.
