Finnair plans to relaunch its flights between Helsinki and Toronto on 4 May 2026, marking the first service to the Canadian city since 2015.

The new service will operate three times weekly, with departures from Helsinki at 16:50 on Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday, arriving in Toronto at 18:35.

Return flights depart Toronto at 23:40 on the same days, arriving in Helsinki at 14:45 the next day, establishing the only direct service between Finland and Canada.

Recent months have seen multiple airlines, including Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic, ramping up their services to Toronto, illustrating growing demand for the route.

Anssi Partanen, Finnair market director for London, expressed excitement about the new route, stating its potential appeal to both business and leisure travellers.

Anssi Partanen shared “As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to be re-adding Canada to our extensive network. Canada is fast becoming one of the most popular long-haul destinations for European travellers, so we are confident that this route will prove a hit. The move also reinforces our commitment to the North American market.
