The former Costa Cruises ship, Carnival Firenze, has been handed over to Carnival Cruise Line in Cadiz, increasing the fleet to 27 ships..
The Carnival Firenze will undergo refurbishment to incorporate signature Carnival features before it begins sailing year-round from Long Beach, Calif., offering various itineraries to Mexico, Catalina Island, and the Mexican Rivera. The ship will also feature popular food and beverage venues and Italian-inspired activities such as La Strada Grill, a Mexitalian fusion restaurant, Tomodoro and Il Viaggio specialty Italian restaurant, the Festa Italiana deck party, the Captain’s Venetian Toast and Italian-inspired youth activities.
The 4,200 passenger Costa Firenze was constructed at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, and entered service in 2021 as a sister ship to Costa Venezia, which was transferred to Carnival Cruise Line and renamed Carnival Venezia under the Costa by Carnival concept.
