
FITUR 2025 opens today at IFEMA Madrid, with Brazil as the Partner Country and record participation from representatives of 120 countries.
The event, the first major international travel fair on the calendar, expects attendance from 150,000 professionals and 100,000 travel consumers, featuring 9,500 companies and 884 exhibitors, marking a 10pc increase in overall attendance compared to previous years.
With an estimated economic impact of €445m for Madrid, the event will enhance the local hospitality and tourism sectors while highlighting innovations in travel technology and sustainability efforts.
The exhibition will showcase participation from 101 official country representations, including 11 new countries from Africa and Asia, emphasizing the growing importance of emerging markets in global tourism.
Director of the Spanish Tourism Office in Dublin Laura Pena will meet regional representatives from the Spanish provinces during the day.
