A Galway farmer, Oliver Joyce, has been granted leave to contest a compulsory purchase order related to a cycleway construction.
The order, made by An Coimisiún Pleanála, affects the layout of Joyce’s farm. High Court permission was granted by Ms Justice Emily Farrell for Joyce to challenge the decision.
The proposed cycleway is part of the Connemara Greenway Project, set to commence in May 2025. Oliver Joyce shared the order would “split my farm, making it unmanageable and land locked.”
