Galway County Council has approved plans for seven holiday lodges at the Glenlo Abbey Hotel in Bushypark
Objections from residents Gus and Noreen Kelehan pointed to a lack of consultation with neighbours, raising issues about visibility and traffic danger.
Galway County Council approved the plans while attaching 19 conditions, which include the requirement for a traffic management plan and adherence to ecological protection measures.
Some local residents raised concerns included the safety hazards posed by increased traffic on the N59 due to the development, particularly the raised speed limit from 50km/h to 60km/h.
