Highlights from Day Two at Farnborough: 

  • Airbus secured 44 orders from three customers on day two of the Farnborough Airshow, with Virgin Atlantic ordering seven A330-900NEOs, Japan Airlines ordering 20 A350-900s and 11 A321NEOs, and Libyan startup Berniq Airways ordering six A320NEOs.
  • Boeing received two firm orders on day two, with Qatar Airways ordering 20 additional 777-9Xs and aircraft lessor Macquarie AirFinance firming up an order for 20 Boeing 737-8s.
  • Embraer announced efficiency improvements for the E190 and E195 E2s, including a 2.5% increase in efficiency and the introduction of autonomous takeoffs starting in 2028. The E175 also received updates for improved passenger experience.
  • De Havilland Canada and SATENA signed a firm agreement for the purchase of eight DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft at the airshow, aiming to enhance air connectivity and support strategic growth plans for Colombia.
