
Holland America Line plans to introduce a new dining experience called Morimoto By Sea on the Nieuw Amsterdam ship starting from its December 16.
This will mark Hiroshima-born Philadelphia-based Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s first standalone restaurant at sea. Guests can indulge in Asian-inspired dishes and beverages crafted by chef Morimoto, who is also the cruise line’s “Fresh Fish Ambassador.”
The menu will feature fresh fish dishes aligned with Holland America Line’s new Global Fresh Fish Program. Located near the Tamarind restaurant on the Observation Deck, Morimoto By Sea will offer a range of options including beef, chicken, vegetarian, and vegan. Reservations can be made through the Holland America Line Navigator App or onboard. Chef Morimoto expressed excitement about sharing his culinary passion with guests aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam and bringing exceptional flavors to those sailing with Holland America Line. Morimoto by Sea menu selections include:
- Sushi Plate (vegetarian option available);
- Morimoto Fresh Tuna Pizza;
- Sticky Ribs;
- Angry Lobster Pad Thai;
- Pork Gyoza Dumpling;
- Japanese Vegetable Curry;
- Hamachi Tacos.
