IHG’s Hotel Indigo brand has introduced a new programme called Borrowed by Hotel Indigo that allows locals to borrow everyday items from its hotels.

The programme is inspired by the brand’s marketing campaign “The World’s Neighbourhood Hotel” and is open to people who live in the same zip code or postcode as the hotel.

Participating hotels will have signage at check-in displaying the available items for borrowing on a first-come, first-serve basis, with no cost or requirement to return the items.

The programme’s goal is to enhance community connections and address the declining neighbourly interactions highlighted in a recent survey by the brand. Participating hotels will offer guests a special locally sourced item, ranging from honey to hot sauce, to enhance their stay.
