
Hurtigruten has announced that it will increase capacity in its premium Signature offering by adding the MS Midnatsol to its fleet in summer 2026.
The MS Vesterålen will return to the Original Coastal Express fleet, serving the Bergen–Kirkenes roundtrip route as part of the state contract.
Hedda Felin, CEO of Hurtigruten, noted that demand for Norwegian coastal voyages is sharply increasing, particularly for those offering authentic experiences and comfort.
Hurtigruten’s Signature voyages feature longer port visits, unique excursions, and all-inclusive dining, with bookings up more than 40% year-on-year as of early May 2025.
James Howlett, Head of Sales UK, reported exceptional growth in Signature bookings, with an increase of over 100% year to date.
