Icon of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, is undergoing repairs at the Grand Bahama Shipyard after cancelling a cruise due to technical issues, arriving at the facility on September 28, 2024.
The ship is scheduled to return to PortMiami for a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise departing next Saturday, which includes stops at St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
The company stated that unscheduled maintenance was required before the vessel could continue its Caribbean deployment, impacting the Sept. 28 cruise and leading to cancellations for several passengers.
Affected guests received refunds for the cancelled cruise and flights booked directly through Royal Caribbean, as well as Future Cruise Credits and covered change fees, including those for independent travel plans.
