Royal Caribbean International has cancelled the upcoming cruise of the Icon of the Seas for unscheduled repairs, which will delay the ship’s operations.

The cancelled cruise, departing from PortMiami on September 28, 2024, was set to visit the Western Caribbean, including stops at Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Affected guests will receive a full refund, including taxes, fees, and prepaid packages, as well as a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equal to 100% of their cruise fare for future sailings.

The current itinerary for the Icon of the Seas is also being adjusted due to maintenance, resulting in a skipped port visit to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, but other scheduled stops will proceed as planned, and passengers will be compensated with an onboard credit.

Royal Caribbean shared: “The ship is currently undergoing maintenance and will sail at a reduced speed. Unplanned maintenance happens, and our teams are hard at work to quickly address it. As a result, we’ll have to skip our visit to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, and enjoy a sea day instead. As compensation, passengers will receive an onboard credit equivalent to one day of the paid cruise fare.”
