Data released for the IATA congress in Delhi in July show the Indian aviation industry is set to outpace China’s in terms of air passenger growth and could become the world’s third-largest market by 2030, with some forecasts showing it potentially rivaling China for the second spot in the future due to robust demand, government support, and airport expansion.
China currently holds a much larger aviation market by aircraft and fleet size, and India must overcome significant challenges like pilot shortages to realise its full potential.
