Ireland visits to Spain for August reached 288,913, up 2.3pc on 2023 for the month and 7.2pc on pre-pandemic.
The figure for the year to date is 1,911,212, up 13.1pc on 2023 and 23.5pc on pre-pandemic.
The monthly growth rate peaked at 26.9pc for January and has outgrown other important inbound markets. Irish tourism has a 4pc market share in Spain while Spain has a 22pc share of the Irish outbound market and 57pc of the holiday market
If the annual increase of 13pc continues through the four remaining months Ireland visits to Spain in 2024 will reach a record 2.7m.
