Ireland was 17th most important inbound market to USA in March

In March 2025, international visitor arrivals to the United States totaled 5,410,331, down 8.1pc from March 2024, largely due to the later Easter. Irish figures were down 27pc but rebounded tby 34pc in April, according to provisional figures. 

The final figures for March confirm that Ireland is the 17th most important inbound market to the USA.

Outbound travel departures from the United States by U.S. citizens totalled 9,128,717 in March 2025, an increase of 1.2pc from to March 2024.

The top 5 overseas student arrivals for March were China (22,651), India (14,815), South Korea (5,068), Brazil (3,660), and Taiwan (2,858).

The top 5 overseas tourism arrivals for March were England (219,797), Japan (133,279), Brazil (123,915), Germany (105,473), and India (94,744).

The largest number of international visitor arrivals was from Canada (1,704,688), Mexico (1,314,378), England (283,561), Japan (164,846), and India (152,105). Combined, these top 5 source markets accounted for 66.9pc of total international arrivals.
