
Cork University Press has published a celebration of the Irish Pub by a selection of authors, examining the pub from its 17th century origins to its current status as a global symbol.
Edited by sociologists Moonyoung Hong and Perry Share, the head of School of Business and Social Sciences at Atlantic Technological University, contributions cover history, sociology, literature, music, and design. The book includes interviews with pub owners and an analysis of rural pubs, discussing the role of the pub during the Covid-19 lockdown. Hardback is priced at €59 with 400 full-colour pages.
