Istanbul airport handled 8,146,411 passengers in July 2.4pc ahead of July 2026 and 30.8pc ahead of pre-pandemic. Istanbul has overtaken Heathrow as Europe’s largest airport.
Rolling annual was 85,333,871 passengers, 4.7pc ahead of the twelve months to July 2025.
The total for the first six months was 39,922,280, p 1pc the first six months of 2025 and up 28.3pc on pre-pandemic.
he fourth main runway at Istanbul Airport is nearing completion and is scheduled to open by the end of 2026. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure confirmed that construction is finishing in August 2026, with technical flight tests taking place right before it goes live in the final quarter of the year
