Sprout & Co, a popular Irish restaurant brand known for healthy eating, plans to open its first location in Cork city centre by transforming a former Ulster Bank building on Winthrop Street into a new café.
The building has been vacant since Ulster Bank ceased operations in 2023, and Sprout & Co has applied for a change of use to operate on the ground and first floors.
Founded by brothers Jack and Theo Kirwan, Sprout started with an organic farm in Kildare in 2018, inspired by a memorable experience at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Cork.
If approved, this café would be Sprout’s first venture outside Dublin and Kildare, expanding their offerings of popular organic salads, warm bowls, and wraps to the lunchtime crowd in Cork.
