Killarney has been selected as the inaugural hub for Fáilte Ireland’s new Climate Action Programme, aiming to lead in sustainable practices within the tourism sector.

The town plans to implement community-wide energy monitoring, solar generation, and benchmarking, along with initiatives to become the largest Electric Vehicle charged destination in Ireland.

With a focus on reducing carbon emissions and embracing sustainable tourism, a new plan titled Vision Killarney: Ireland’s Most Sustainable Town 2030 is set to be launched.

The Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce is organizing a meeting at the Killarney Avenue Hotel on March 27 to outline the plan and benefits for businesses and individuals, encouraging community involvement in achieving sustainability goals.
