Andreas Köster has been appointed Lufthansa senior director sales for Britain, Ireland and Iceland and will take up the position on September 1 2016.
Köster will be responsible for the sales activities and representation from Lufthansa’s London base, reporting to Heike Birlenbach – vice-president sales Europe Lufthansa Group.
Koster started his career in 1997 as a management trainee with Lufthansa, before gaining experience in airline revenue management and progressing to the role of general manager of market and business development, based in Singapore, in 2004.
Three years later, he returned to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt office as director customer intelligence, being responsible for customer data analysis and market research.
In 2013, he became director of global key account management, with responsibility for Lufthansa Group’s global corporate customers, travel management companies and online travel agents.
Köster holds an industrial engineering degree from the Technical University Braunschweig.
He succeeds Christian Schindler, who held the position since 2012. Schindler will now be head of sales and services Europe for the LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG and will be based in Frankfurt.
