Loganair and Aurigny Air Services shave submitted bids for route licences out of Guernsey.
Loganair is bidding to serves connections to Southampton and Jersey. Aurigny aims to serve only the Jersey route. The Southampton route serves as an essential air service for medical travel.
The Jersey route resumes under a new contract on 15 January 2026 after thr collapse of Blue Islands.
Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller shared “we designate some air routes as essential so that it allows us to have direct involvement in who operates it, and therefore the standard of service on that route.”
