London City Airport will introduce a drop-off fee by year-end 2025, becoming the last major UK airport to do so.
The fee applies to all vehicles including Ubers and taxis, with exemptions for Blue Badge holders, though exact costs remain undisclosed. Two-thirds of the airport’s 3.6m annual passengers use public transport, supported by 15-minute DLR links from Canary Wharf.
The move aims to reduce vehicle numbers and emissions, targeting net-zero status by 2030 with new DLR train funding. Passenger numbers will rise annually from 2024, with the addition three early-morning weekday flights.
London City Airport spokesperson shared “The charge will help London City meet its wider sustainability goals.”
