A progress report on the M20 Cork to Limerick road suggests that it will be tolled, and will be an estimated five times safer than the current N20 single carriageway.

The proposed motorway will have a 120km/h speed limit, reducing intercity journey times and providing 80km of motorway with cycleways and transport hubs.

The project office confirmed that the project is still on track to go to planning in Quarter 1 of 2025 with construction to start in 2027 and be finished by 2031.
